Wood Education
In February 2025, WoodWorks BC partnered with Informa to present the first-ever WoodWorks at BUILDEX—a new format that replaced the standalone Wood Solutions Conference and WoodWorks Summit. Designed to increase the profile of wood construction and reach a broader, more mainstream audience, this initiative delivered on its promise. With more than 700 unique session attendees—57% of whom were engaging with WoodWorks for the first time—the event significantly expanded our reach beyond the self-selecting wood-focused professionals who typically attend our events.

Planning is already underway for WoodWorks at BUILDEX 2026, set for February 11 & 12 at the Vancouver Convention Centre West. We’re looking forward to building on this success and refining the experience in 2026. If you’re interested in being part of the wood pavilion, contributing to the educational program, or partnering in another capacity, we encourage you to get in touch—and save the date!
As part of BUILDEX Vancouver, one of Western Canada’s largest construction industry events, WoodWorks helped bring wood innovation to centre stage. Educational sessions curated by WoodWorks accounted for nearly 20% of the overall program, while 31 wood-focused exhibitors anchored a strong presence on the tradeshow floor. Keynotes and breakout sessions alike drew strong crowds and earned high marks, with attendees rating both content and speaker expertise an average of 4.7 out of 5.
The atmosphere throughout the two-day event was one of energy and opportunity. Exhibitors noted strong interest from a more diverse mix of attendees than typically seen at wood-specific events. The free mainstage sessions—open to all BUILDEX participants—proved especially effective in drawing new audiences, and feedback suggests these sessions should continue to be a feature of future programs.
