Each piece is a kind of resurrection, giving the driftwood a new life with both playfulness and emotional resonance. One highlight is Tanya’s tribute to Takaya, the legendary lone wolf of Discovery Island: a 5-foot, 150-lb sculpture created from more than 1,000 pieces of natural materials and displayed in the lobby of the Fairmont Empress.

Tanya studied Philosophy of Science at McGill University and received art training at Emily Carr. Her interdisciplinary background informs a process rooted in both wonder and structure. Through her commissioned works and original sculptures, she invites viewers into a world where nature’s remnants spark imagination, emotion, and connection.
